Vein diseases

Our vascular system consists of arteries and veins. Through the arteries, our heart pumps blood enriched with nutrients and oxygen into our body, and in the veins the used blood flows back.

Diseases of the venous system affect Central Europeans very frequently. They cover a wide range of treatments and pass through several specialist areas. The clinical pictures range from harmless spider veins to deep vein thrombosis or ulcus cruris, an ulcer in the tissue of the lower leg, which is not harmless for us humans.

A risk for vein diseases can be an advanced age, number of pregnancies or predisposition. However, vascular diseases occur more and more frequently in younger people as well.
