Mostly children between three and eight years are affected. It takes one to five days from infection to the outbreak of the disease (incubation period). Subsequently, your child complains of initial signs such as sore throat, difficulty swallowing and fever, followed by symptoms such as highly red tonsils, uvula and palate, as well as painful lymph nodes in the jaw area and purulent rhinitis. The white-coated tongue, which however turns raspberry red as it progresses, is typical, as is a strikingly pale face, especially around the mouth. A red, velvety, non-itching rash that spreads from the groin and armpit area over the entire body is also a characteristic of the disease.

At the first suspicion of scarlet fever, go straight to your doctor. The administration of penicillin and possibly a painkiller will counteract the disease. Also homeopathic remedies, Mercurius solubilis D12 against infections, as well as Phytolacca americana D6, and also cold neck compresses relieve the discomfort.
