Our right side of the heart now has to fight against the increased resistance of the lungs. This results in high blood pressure. This results in a thickening and, in the long term, fatigue of the right side of the heart. The symptoms of pulmonary hypertension fit many diseases. Therefore, it is important to think about the possibility of this disease; especially the attending physician to perform a clarifying cardiac ultrasound at the first signs.
