Psoriasis

Psoriasis is manifested by red, thickened patches of skin with silvery scales, usually on the elbows, knees, trunk or scalp.

The affected areas may itch or hurt. The nails also often show depressions or are even completely destroyed. Psoriasis is partly hereditary; many patients suffer from it throughout their lives, as well as exclusion and discrimination as a result.

Go to your doctor first. He should make the diagnosis and prescribe the necessary medication. Mild psoriasis can often be controlled with the following remedies.

Take a warm bath daily to soften and remove dandruff. Tar preparations and moisturizing oil baths also help. Avoid scratching or rubbing the affected skin areas. Using aloe vera cream or gel can also relieve itching. If psoriasis worsens due to stress or psychological strain, practice breathing or muscle relaxation exercises.
