Gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal flu and colitis

Diarrhea and vomiting are often due to inflammation of the gastrointestinal mucosa (gastroenteritis). Transmission usually occurs through fecal-oral smear infection.

Infectious stool, for example, returns to the gastrointestinal tract through insufficiently cleaned hands, through contact with infected persons, or through contaminated food and drink via the mouth. The situation is different with noro viruses, which are so infectious that we become infected through gushing vomit and the pathogens that are thus in the air (droplet infection).

The inflammation of the duodenum (colitis), which is also caused by viruses and bacteria, frequently triggers diarrhea. Both diseases diagnosed together (neonatal diarrhea) are highly contagious.

Recommended are preparations from the pharmacy to balance your electrolyte balance, as well as a visit to your doctor.
