Essential (primary) hypertension - high blood pressure

Essential hypertension is a form of high blood pressure for which there is no underlying disease as the cause. It is also known as primary hypertension. Primary hypertension is recognized by the permanently high blood pressure in the arteries.

The causes are usually obesity, high cholesterol levels, lack of exercise, smoking and stress. Approximately 85% of people who have high blood pressure are affected by this form.

You can counteract it with a diet rich in vital substances, sufficient exercise and relaxation techniques, as well as by avoiding high salt and alcohol consumption or smoking.
