Diseases of liver

Our liver is an important organ for the entire metabolism, producing bile and vital proteins. In the organism, it is responsible for the absorption as well as excretion of metabolic products, for example drugs or toxins.


Here are a few important other diseases of the liver:


- The so-called fatty liver often develops due to overeating, fat metabolism disorder as well as alcohol or medication abuse.


- Congestive liver is cirrhosis of the liver caused by blood stasis.

- Hepatic infarction is the occlusion of a branch of the portal vein due to fatty degeneration.

- Peliosis hepatis are blood-filled cysts in the liver.

- Hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) refers to renal failure due to liver disease.
