Conjunctivitis - conjunctivitis

Infectious conjunctivitis caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi is very contagious and one of the most common diseases of the eyes. However, the inflammation can also be triggered non-infectiously.

Mechanical irritation, dust, smoke and dry air, or allergic reactions to pollen and cosmetic products, can also lead to inflammation of the conjunctiva. Children are often affected by conjunctivitis because they often touch their faces and spread the pathogens among themselves.

The symptoms of conjunctivitis are reddened eyes, a foreign body sensation when blinking, as well as burning, itching and tearing of the eyes.


Therapy: administration of eye drops and ointments and taking antibiotics.
