Bradycardia is when the heart rate is 60 beats/minute, which is rather normal for trained athletes. Tachycardia is a rapid heart rate of more than 100 beats/minute, which can be a normal bodily reaction to exertion, stress or fever.

An irregular heartbeat is called an arrhythmia, which is called a bradyarrhythmia if the heart rate is low, or a tachyarrhythmia if the heart rate is high. For these and other frequency disorders of the heart, your doctor and cardiologist will make a diagnosis.
